    Pigeons eggs update.

Firstly I would like to thank those that have visited
and left their kind words and good wishes.
It is humbling to know that there are people out there that care.
Once again I thank you all.

I was admitted to the Freemans Hospital in Newcastle on Monday the 7th of this month.
The procedure was scheduled for the following day and it lasted some 2 hours.
At the end of the treatment the surgeon informed me that  he could not totally embolize the first tumor
as it was feeding of my Gallbladder and that it had to be removed before he could
finish embolizing the first tumor. The second tumor to be dealt with at a later date.
He also stated that this happens to 20% of patients, but felt that there was a way around it.

I shall spare you the details of the side effects of the treatment, suffice to say
Kenny was not a happy bunny at all for 2 days.
Just before my release from Hospital on Friday the 11th My consultant came to see me.
She explained that because the part of my liver that remain unaffected was in good condition,
and that I was reasonably fit, also that my other vitals appeared to be in good working order.
She felt a section would be possible.

Then surprisingly she told me that she had put me forward for a "transplant"
Upon hearing the word transplant my hopes were lifted Olympus high.
I am to be admitted sometime in November for a week of very intense tests.
To see if indeed I am physically and mentally suitable for a transplant.
I am thinking on the lines that if my consultant did not feel that I stood a good chance
of receiving a transplant then logically  she would not have put my name forward.
My consultant also arranged for another ct scan and a follow up appointment
to see her regarding the state of play.

THE ABOVE WAS WRITTEN ON THE SATURDAY. THE DAY AFTER I RETURNED HOME
    FROM THE FREEMANS HOSPITAL.

On Sunday I was rushed into the James Cook hospital here in Middlesbrough.
I had wakened to a pain emanating from my liver area. A most vicious pain indeed.
On my admission to my local hospital I was pumped full of morphine.
To cut a long story short my Liver had become inflamed.
Needless to say  once again  Kenny was not a happy bunny.
I was released yesterday with a bag full of tablets to eat for a couple of weeks.
I am so confused with it all as I am not hospital orientated so I am just taking each day as it comes.
With each day comes the thought that while I breath there is always hope and
    it springs eternal.
However the sword of Damocles hangs above me also each day.
But, we shall not talk of graves worms and epitaphs.
I shall dream of and hope for a successful victory against this most horrible of opponents.

Well there you have it. That is what has been happening to Kenny over the passed two weeks.

I leave you now with a image I put together that I think describes my feelings towards
    alcohol.

    The choice is ours.

Ps.  While reading my consultants profile on line, I came across this delicious irony.

It works out that my treatment at the Freemans hospital is indeed part funded

by the "Brewers association of Europe".

    Mmmm....strange one that !!!

    Hi Kenny!
I am so sorry to hear that you had to endure all that pain! I so hope and pray that you get the liver transplant, I know you will and you will be healthy again. Yes, it is ironic about the funding! Take care of yourself and hopefully you have some support from family and friends.

Thank you, I just thought it may be a good idea to get some info from someone who had actually had a successful liver transplant . Errrrrrm...guess I couldn't very well get much info from someone who's transplant was unsuccessful. "GROAN'S" all round :)
